PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS

Please use the specific forms linked or listed below.
Note that Indirect Costs will not be paid.

  • JHU Information Sheet
    Please see your budget administrator for the Information Sheet.  Dean's Office signature not required. Must be signed by PI, department director and department administrator only.

  • Face Page
    Business Office signatures are not required.

  • Budget - Year One
    Direct Costs only

  • Table of Contents

  • Research Plan
    No more than five pages, excluding tables, graphs and references

    Including:

    Long-term objectives
    Background and significance with a description of the relationship to your current research area
    Experimental methods and procedures
    Vertebrate animal section if applicable (NIH guidelines)
    Human subject section if applicable (NIH guidelines)
    Introduction with Specific Aims

  • References

  • Other Support

  • Provide an NIH biosketch with relevant bibliography and other support for all Key Personnel.

  • Outside Collaborators
    Collaborations are welcome but the application must clearly state why the work can not be done at Hopkins.

RECOMMENDATIONS

  • When appropriate, the use of JHMRI Core Facilities and the MIAM field site is encouraged.

  • Successful applications will focus on the development of new ideas that are likely to lead to future external funding.

REVIEW
Applications will be evaluated by a team of external reviewers, including members of the JHMRI External Advisory Board. The review will focus on scientific quality and compatibility with the mission of the JHMRI. Applicants will receive the outcome of their review within eight weeks of the submission date.
